Now THIS was a FUN job!

This client entrusted me with the task of re-designing her Living Room and Dining Room as I saw fit…What a treat for a designer!  She gave me her budget and I went to town ordering and finishing this space within a month.

Living Room

The outdated colors of gold, green and red had to go!  This client is blonde with beautiful blue eyes and these rooms had to reflect her and her family while being comfortable and practical. We began with the modern sofa in a white chenille and luxurious pillows that bring out the beautiful colors in the large seascape painting.  Oversized Italian style lamps with modern shades update traditional tables that were in the room.

Across the room, gorgeous shrimp colored chests anchor the large walls on either side of the oversized fireplace.  A large Italian style mirror fits easily in the space above the mantle as the 22’ ceilings soar.  Italian altar candlesticks both lighten the mantle and fill the space on either side of the mirror.  Beautiful new accessories grace the chests while a mirrored gold coffee table lightens the floor and provides centering for the chinoiserie style wooden arm chairs.  The piece de resistance was the beautiful new windowpane blue and white fabric on the client’s upholstered arm chairs in front of the fireplace. What an update!

Dining Room

The dining room was transformed by changing the rug to an ombre rug heralding back to the colors in the seascape painting.  The antique dining chairs were faux painted and re-upholstered with a beautiful cut velvet in blue and cream.  The wooden brackets were painted gray to soften them and provide a new look.

We topped off this project with a larger, Oushak gallery rug in the foyer.  Sometimes you just have to bleed over into an adjoining room!

This project was completed in record time because the client let me loose!  Did I say this was my sister?!
