How fun it is to be given a clean slate and a chance to redo a room and make it Beautiful!

Renovations excite me because you give fresh life to a tired space, making it new and welcoming for the homeowners.

This primary bath was over 20 years old, done in the camel and brown colors of its day.  The toilet had no privacy and the sink area looked cramped.  The homeowners needed space to store clothes and towels.

The perfect situation for a whole new look!

We gutted the bath to its walls, leaving the window and major items in their places:  the toilet, shower and tub locations did not change.  But, everything else did!

The homeowner loved blue which was in the rug in the primary bedroom, so we decided on a light blue and white palette - spa inspired.  We even added a heated floor and a towel warmer!

A new bookcase wall provides privacy to the toilet but still allows the daylight from the one window to flood the room.  The shower now looks bigger by adding seamless glass walls to visually enlarge the space.

The five gold and glass sconces and gold hardware make this bath luxurious.

The cabinet on the right side of the sink wall was removed thus making the sink wall look more spacious and the cabinet space was added back in the form of shelves and drawers between the two sinks.

The result?  Calming.  Restorative.  Comfortable.  Clean.  Beautiful.  Timeless.

And what are the four words that accompany every Renovation?  “While we’re at it . . .”

The primary bedroom needed some love too.  The queen bed was visually small for the space as were the bedside tables and lamps.

So while keeping the existing rug and draperies, we opted for a large king bed with presence and large bedside chests that are functional and beautiful.  The new large blue lamps give a great color contrast to the neutral draperies.  The bedding by Matouk is classic and clean and the ombre velvet pillows pick up colors from the Ed Nash painting over the fireplace.

One more thing:  Every fireplace begs for a pair of comfortable chairs to cozy up next to it.  These beautiful blue mohair club chairs, custom pillows, Ed Nash painting  and large glass lanterns with battery operated candles complete the look.

As in every project I try to use pieces the homeowners love, so, we repositioned an antique chest with a wonderful painting over it  across from the new bed to complete the look.

Truly, two new spaces and so welcoming!
