Wallpaper That Tells a Story

Wallpaper That Tells a Story

Wallpaper is one of the quickest ways to refresh a room and update your home or office. Color and texture can completely transform a space, and the creative story behind a wallpaper design can transport you to the mountains, Palm Beach, a favorite hotel… the narratives are as endless as the choices available.

Zuber wall panels from France have long been a favorite of mine. I first saw them in books and magazines featuring famous homes, and later in person at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. So when the opportunity came to purchase seven distressed panels of Les Jardins Français, I jumped at the chance—never mind the expense of having them restored and mounted. These panels have been crated and moved through four different homes, anchoring every room they’ve graced.

Garden trellis wallpaper is another beautiful way to envelope a room.

The classic garden trellis design comes in a variety of patterns and colors, bringing a freshn clean look to a room.

Upstairs bedrooms with dormer windows are a great place to use wallpaper to connect all the various angles and unify the space.  And it is always fun to use coordinating wallpapers to complement adjoining rooms as in this upstairs guest bedroom and bath. The white hallway provides visual rest between the two rooms while the blue pattern lamp shades keep the color the theme going.
