Cashiers Historical Society announces the 27th Cashiers Designer Showhouse Annual Fundraiser Scheduled for August 23-August 31, 2024 CASHIERS, NC – May 13, 2024 – The Cashiers Historical Society is delighted to announce that its 27th annual Cashiers Designer Showhouse will take place on August 23 - August 31, 2024. Over the last two decades, the Cashiers Designer Showhouse has become a beloved tradition that brings thousands of people to Cashiers during the last week of August. The Showhouse supports Cashiers’ economy and provides critically needed funds for the Cashiers Historical Society (CHS). Funds raised support CHS’s mission to preserve the history and culture of the Cashiers Valley through education, stewardship, and advocacy.

The 2024 Showhouse is nestled in the heart of Cashiers, with ample acreage that exemplifies the beauty of modern mountain living. This charming 4-bedroom and 4.5-bath farmhouse sits on 7 +/- acres and is beautifully landscaped with creeks and scenic walking trails leading into town. Constructed by a local craftsman and builder for his own enjoyment, the current owners were drawn to the house as it “feels like an oasis in the middle of town.” This quintessential mountain-style home showcases what you desire in year-round living or a summer retreat: privacy, ample space for entertaining both inside and out, a partially screened wrapped-around porch, a private guest suite above the garage, a separate studio/game room with a bar, and stunning landscaping.

Cheryl Stanzione, Chair of the 2024 Cashiers Designer Showhouse, expresses excitement about the upcoming event: “We have an exceptional team dedicated to delivering nine days of excitement and enjoyment to the Cashiers community, all in support of our beloved Cashiers Historical Society.” Stanzione adds, “the renowned Designer Showhouse will be transformed by the creativity and expertise of fifteen designers, showcasing various lifestyle options amidst level land featuring hidden trails, a gazebo, a firepit, and play areas. This house truly offers something for everyone!”

The Showhouse serves as the Cashiers Historical Society's primary fundraiser. In 2023, CHS welcomed thousands of visitors to its campus, home to some of Jackson County, North Carolina's oldest structures. Thousands of people attended CHS’s educational events, including every third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grader in the local schools. CHS programs are designed to strengthen the community by reminding people that we’re united in our shared history of Cashiers.
